My name is Glenn Derek Burton and I was born in England. I migrated here in 1963 at a ripe old age of six with my parents Yvonne and Derrick, my dad passed away in 2000 and I miss him greatly. I am single parent and have two grown up beautiful children. I began seriously drawing and oil painting after building a new house and not having anything on the walls, I admire Rembrandt! The Dutchpainter and draftsman, for his realism before the use of photography and the theory of hyper-focal distance and chemical imagery in the mid sixteenth century. I always wondered how someone obtained so much accuracy in that period of our history by using curved metal mirrors or water-reflections, (with limited projections and distortions) or maybe optics ("glass") in the form of a Camera Lucida ("light room") or Camera Obscura ("dark room") (with again limited projections). This type of retrospective imagery pushes us to the early 14th century or the dawn of the European cultural movement the Renaissance. Rembrandt was renowned for creating self-portraits with limited 16th-Century Pigments (before) the use of light fast Cadmium Colored Pigments and the theory of complementary colors developed in the 18th century, using the chiaroscuro and Sfumato application (Invisible brush strokes) then onto impasto (In paste) technique very effectively.

I like plein air painting sometimes and the Comradery that surrounds that! but found myself picking
up sticks, branches and bottle brushes and bringing them home for reference
material and making composites from natural things in the alla prima technique. I’m a chef by trade
and have done two trades and eleven post trades and have studied calligraphy
and fine art, including advance flower modelling with gum paste; piping
in
bulb pressure formation with sugar and
found myself having to learn to paint with none toxic chalks using atmosphere
and lineal perspective with foreshortening in the third dimension while
being the CEO of Gretward & Co Pty Limited.
Now I’m finding myself painting in oils; web design and desk top publishing, I believe
you’re a student of life-all your life
This simple website has given me something to do now I’m older; I have enjoyed
the enlighten challenge of computational thinking with raw code in HTML5, CSS3,
JavaScript and .ASP or (server-side script) within the cross-platform library of jQuery using
notepad++ with a local host or (IIS).

With the combination of painting, travelling, gardening, coding, writing and scuba diving; it’s given
me an interest! including keeping up with the electronic revolution and computation, even
though I’m aware of being algorithmically followed by algorithms with enduring forms of
heightened artificial intelligence with programic reference, which makes me feel safer then i ever have before. (believe it or not)
My art falls on the traditional side of painting and takes time to execute and doesn’t
have commercial value in the current discretionary market, but it’s a hobby! that I enjoy with limited margins; that is evolving with my age, practice, traveling and education.
I don`t frame all my work!
it’s up to the buyer to make an informed choice
on the colour harmony, temperature bios and continuity of the painting in
consideration of the walls in their house or home of hanging; I feel this should play a
personal and important apart of your purchase and you will get exactly what you want and
more importantly, what is needed, including collecting for future investment and tax lessoning.
Worldwide shipping and distribution can be arranged with commissions welcomed.
My aim is to manipulate composites in the alla prima technique (wet on wet or direct) while capturing Rayleigh scattering and ultra- violet light,
even though it’s of a wavelength that the unaided human eye can not see naturally   close-up; only at altitude in distance unless refractive or through an optical distortion. Without becoming to ubiquitous .
